Oral history interview with Emma Stampley conducted by Claytee D. White on October 22, 2007 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Stampley discusses her early life in Fayette, Mississippi and growing up in a family of farmers. She remembers segregated schools, the living conditions during that time, and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1968. Stampley talks about participating in the civil and welfare rights movements, and the foundation of Operation Life. Lastly, Stampley recalls traveling to civil and welfare rights movement marches, police harassment, and the African American experience in Las Vegas during that time.

Oral history interview with Erma Lee conducted by Claytee D. White on April 2, 2016 for the Folklife Program of the Nevada Arts Council and the Oral History Research Center at UNLV Libraries. Lee begins the interview talking about her early life and the reason why she is an artist. She goes on to describe different art pieces that she has made, the varying themes, and the messages she hopes to convey through her artistic expressions. Lee speaks about the different types of art she makes and the specific equipment that is required. Lastly, she talks about her religious beliefs.

Tami Belt talks about learning to play golf on the Municipal Golf course where her father worked as a PGA teaching professional. She discusses life in Las Vegas, her family's professions in the city, and shops on Fremont Street like Ronzone's Department Store. Tami shares her career working in public relations and the work she has done with non-profit organizations to combat childhood cancer and homelessness.

Oral history interview with Miriam Shearing conducted by Claytee D. White on August 15 and September 6, 2017 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project.

Justice Miriam Shearing is the first female member of the Nevada Supreme Court. She talks about her move to Las Vegas in 1968 and the difficulties she faced early on as a woman in the profession of law. Shearing shares how she successfully became a Justice Court Judge and recalls memories from her time on the Supreme Court. She also talks about her husband, Steven Paul Shearing, an ophthalmologist who invented the lens necessary for Lasik eye surgery.

Oral history interviews with Edyth Hess Hoban conducted by Jane E. Olive on March 11, 2000 and May 23, 2000 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Hoban discusses her early life in Scotland, South Dakota. She remembers the 1918 Influenza pandemic, her early interest in music, and becoming the band leader for the all-women orchestra, The Sophisticates. Hoban talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1942, competing and winning in golf tournaments, and changes in Las Vegas golf courses.

Oral history interview with Esther Marber conducted by Jane E. Olive on July 16, 1999 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Marber discusses her life in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1947. She remembers her employment at the Bonanza Casino, the Riviera Hotel and Casino, and the development of labor unions in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Yvanna Cancela conducted by Monserrath Hernández and Barbara Tabach on February 27, 2020 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project.

Yvanna Cancela, Nevada State Senator, discusses her personal history growing up in Miami, Florida and her studies at Northwestern University. She talks of working for Senator Harry Reid's campaign in Las Vegas, which led to her organizing efforts for the Culinary Workers Union Local 226. Yvanna recalls being appointed to the Nevada State Senate in 2016 as the first female state senate majority. In addition to fulfilling her duties as the Co-Majority Whip, she worked on the Joe Biden campaign and is the Executive Director of the Citizenship Project. After this interview was conducted, Yvanna received her Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
