From the Hazel Baker Denton Photograph Collection (PH-00312). Handwritten inscription on the back reads, "In Silver Creek Canyon, July 4, 1910. The Omaha Bee Expedition enroute to Coalville to see the Beard Collection of mountain paintings. Front seat- Leonard Fowler, Omaha- Jessie Priest, can't remember the names of the ones that are in the middle seat, but both were from Omaha. Backseat, Hazel B. and Dorothy Wright- car the Cadillac of that day, Stevens-Dureay."

An image of automobile traffic on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas, looking northwest towards the Union Pacific railroad station. The Golden Nugget and Hotel Apache sign above the Horseshoe Club are visible at the intersection on Second Street. The Lucky Strike Club, Vegas Vic (outside of the Pioneer Club) and Monte Carlo Club are visible on the south side of the street. The corner of the Silver Palace, which opened in May 1956, is visible between the signs for the Boulder Club and Las Vegas Club on the north side of the street.

Destruction left behind after fire near Colorado River and Hoover Dam at government-created town of Williamsville, nicknamed "Ragtown," 1931. News article included with the image reads: ""BLAZE AT DAM CONSUMES SIX HOMES TODAY -- Six families at the river landing are without homes and belongings as a result of a brush fire which started about 10 o'clock this morning. While the fire was soon under control the flames during the blaze were at times 50 feet high, fanned by a high wind which rushed down the canyon. Sergeat Clyatt, a one time cook at a military school in the east, who had a bakeshop at the landing, was also burned out, but as he still had his oven, and he had his dough ready for baking, he established a relief station immediately and at last reports was serving bread and coffee to the homeless families. -- LAS VEGAS EVENING REVIEW JOURNAL, March 28, 1931, p. 1, col. 6.""
