Tourists overwhelmingly prefer to use the private property walkway built into the Treasure Island hotel and casino over the public sidewalk. The decision to include both a private and public sidewalk was in part related to the discussion of access that must be provided to the public if a property incorporates the public space into their designs. Then owner Steve Wynn chose to leave the traditional sidewalk rather than grant access to the private property for public protests or other public uses. Other casinos chose to differently.
