The Nevada Mining Photograph Collection depicts mining activities, miners, and mining towns in Nevada from 1868 to 1937. The photographs primarily depict the towns of Tonopah, Nevada and Goldfield, Nevada, including mills, buildings, mine shafts, and panoramic views of the landscape. The photographs also depict Beatty, Lost City, Delamar, Candelaria, Winnemucca, Virginia City, Rhyolite, Elko, and Reno, Nevada. The photographs also include portraits of early settlers in Nevada, Native Americans, children, parades, celebrations, and funerals.

The Elbert Edwards Photograph Collection contains photographs of Nevada from 1852 to 1991. The collection has a wide variety of photographs, including: white pioneers and settlers; early Nevada towns; Nevada politicians; early Las Vegas landmarks; Boulder City schools; petroglyphs from Nevada's indigenous populations; Lost City and Lake Mead; railroads; the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam); Basic Magnesium Inc. in Henderson, Nevada; geographical features; the Edwards family; and photographs of Elbert Edwards's participation in the Las Vegas Education Association and the Rotary Club.

Carver, Carver-Duhme, and Carver-Book Families (Smoky Valley). Laura Stebbins Darrough, said to have discovered the gold deposit at Round Mountain, Nevada, while searching for an escaped milk cow. A camp in Railroad Valley, Nye County, Nevada, in the vicinity of present-day (1990) oil fields where Isaac "Ike" Irwin drilled for potash. Seated in the wagon wearing a white shirt is Frank Roberts and beside him is Jess Hildebrandt, a resident of Duckwater, Nevada. This photograph is undated, but judging by Frank Robert’s age in the photo it appears to be circa 1915.
