C. N. Cross' mining claim of Solitary Mine in Clark County Nevada on January 26, 1929. Notes with photo read, "Claim on butte that now is an island in the lake. Wint has the claim papers. Called Solitary Mine - Clark County, Nev, 24th Jan., 1929. Wint, Emory's son, Ayers daughter, and others would ride burros up to this location and cook hot dogs and then return by moonlight."

The Lincoln County Museum Photograph Collection contains photographs of towns, railroads, and mining operations in Lincoln County, Nevada from 1870 to 1953. The photographs primarily depict mines and railroads in Pioche, Caliente, Bullionville, and Panaca from 1900 to 1908 during part of Nevada’s mining boom. The photographs also depict Paiute workers, horse freight teams, geographical landmarks, and students in Lincoln County.

William Hillman Shockley Photograph Collection

Abstract

The William Hillman Shockley Photograph Collection (1875-1925, 1951) contains black-and-white photographs documenting mining operations at the Mount Diablo Mine and Millworks in Candelaria, Nevada. It also includes photographs of nearby operations including the Northern Belle Mine and the Princess Mill. The collection contains photographs of Shockley, his son, William Bradford Shockley, as an infant, as well as images of Shockley’s brothers, Walter A. Shockley and George Shockley.
