The Six Companies, Inc. Hoover Dam Photograph Collection (1931-1935), consists of approximately 400 black-and-white photographic prints contained in two photograph albums and an additional twenty-one loose black-and-white photographic prints with ten corresponding photographic negatives.

Description

The view is looking west from Railroad Avenue. In front of the buildings is a group of unidentified men with two children and a dog. The First State Bank of Las Vegas was the second bank in the Las Vegas valley, located on Lot 9, Block 2 within the McWilliams' Original Las Vegas Townsite. The bank building was located on a lot owned by Walter Bracken. The lot the Post Office was located on, Lot 10, Block 2, was owned by Helen Stewart.

Oral history interview with Leslie W. Edwards conducted by John Porter on March 19, 1976 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview Edwards provides an overview of rural Panaca, Nevada history starting in the early 1900s. Edwards describes how life operated for rural Nevadans and also describes his family's experiences on their farm.

Abstract

The Ruthadele Stearns Doyle Lathrop Personal Papers (1900s-1991) contains scrapbooks, slides, and matted competition photographs created by Ruthadele Stearns Doyle Lathrop, a photographer and ballroom dancer. The scrapbooks include photographs of Ruthadele’s family, travels, and ballroom dance competitions, as well as newspaper clippings and other ephemera. The slides and matted photographs consist mostly of Western landscape scenes, including California and Nevada.
