The WM-11 Nevada Nuclear Waste Storage Investigations (NNWSI) State of Nevada series (1977-1986) contains technical reports, meeting agendas and minutes, Department of Energy (DOE) research briefings, and correspondence. The collection includes materials related to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and DOE pre-licensing activities regarding disposal of high-level nuclear waste in accordance with the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 and NRC reviews of site-by-site implementation of the DOE’s programs in accordance with the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act of 1978. Materials also include NRC and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) correspondence regarding high-level waste standards, NRC topical reports reviews and related correspondence, and correspondence from citizens and non-government organizations pertaining to the above topics. The Anti-Defamation League Nevada Region Office Records (2003-2019) mainly contain photographs depicting Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Nevada Region Office events. The collection also includes a sign advertising ADL's "No Place For Hate" program; ARL's 2017 and 2018 gala, "Imagine a World Without Hate" programs and invitations; and 2018's Jurisprudence Luncheon invitation commemorating the achievements and contributions of Joe W. Brown.

From the Harvey's Hotel and Casino Postcard Collection (PH-00367) -- The Exchange Club in the colorful "old west" town of Beatty, Nevada, is a 3-way fun, food, and refreshment stop with its popular casino and bar and the adjoining family restaurant, the Amargosa Grill. In the center of Beatty, the Exchange Club is between Tonopah and Las Vegas and at the Eastern gateway into Death Valley National Monument.

Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Community Collection

Abstract

The Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Community Collection (approximately 1973-2020) consists of artwork, memorabilia, ephemera, event fliers, and event photographs donated by members of the Latinx community in Las Vegas, Nevada and collected by staff members of the Oral History Research Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Materials were donated and collected as part of the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada oral history and community engagement project hosted by UNLV University Libraries. Some of the materials in this collection are related to oral history interviews for Lidia Bonilla, Horacio Lopez, Krystal Ramirez, and Gustavo Ramos. This collection also includes fliers and posters advertising events in the Latinx community, campaign signs for Latinx candidates running for office, and Spanish language campaign signs.
