This is part 1 of 6 finding aids for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Creative Services Records and represents 1970 to 1979. Generally, materials are transferred from UNLV Photo Services to UNLV Special Collections and Archives 5 years after they are created. For materials within the last 5 years, email photo@unlv.edu or call 702-895-3036. This finding aid contains the photographic negatives and contact sheets produced by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 1970 to 1979 as an official record of the institution's development, activities, and community. Clients include UNLV colleges and departments, the University's administration, the UNLV Foundation, athletic departments, and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). Images include academic activities, athletic events, faculty and administration, student life, campus life, campus development, architecture, and public relations.

The Cecil Leavitt Paper on the History of Bunkerville, Nevada, undated, consists of a term paper written by Leavitt for a history class at the College of Southern Utah, Cedar City, Utah.

The collection includes materials from the Nevada Test Site (1955-1967) including newsletters published by the Reynolds Electrical & Engineering Co., Inc. and photographs of Southern Nevada flora, fauna, and archaeology. It also includes photographs of test explosions at the Nevada Test Site, as well as photographs documenting a visit from North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) officials and a visit from John F. Kennedy to the Nevada Test Site. The collection also contains an oversized poster of an atomic explosion and one of a nuclear rocket development station.
Archival Collection
The Frank Williams Papers on Early Nevada (1892-1946) consists of manuscripts written for the most part by Frank Williams, an early resident of Southern Nevada. The collection includes Williams' autobiography as well as histories of Goodsprings, Potosi Mine, Mesquite Valley, and the Yellow Pine Mining districts. Finally, this collection contains reports and material reflecting Frank Williams' two terms as University Regent (1909-1912 and 1923-1942) at the University of Nevada, Reno, and his four terms in the Nevada State Assembly.
Archival Collection
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Office of Decision Support Records (approximately 1960-2006) consist primarily of financial documents, correspondence, projections, budgets, and audit reports pertaining to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Board of Regents, the UNLV Faculty Senate, and the University and Community College System of Nevada (UCCSN). The collection also includes information relating to accreditation, affirmative action, gender equality, and other initiatives at UNLV. This collection contains materials created by the Office of Institutional Planning and Analysis, which later became part of the Office of Decision Support.
