Jay Brewer interviews local store clerk Marilyn B. Brockett, born December 10th, 1925, in Cedar City, Utah. Marilyn B. Brockett, originally known as Marilyn B. Ballard before marriage, moved to Nevada in 1932. During this interview Brockett discusses social changes and the growth of Boulder City, Nevada from 1932 to 1975.

From the UNLV Libraries Single Item Accession Photograph Collection (PH-00171). Pictured is the first LDS (Mormon) chapel in Las Vegas. Construction was begun in 1924 & completed in 1925. The chapel was located on the northwest corner of 6th & Carson streets. It is presently located on Eastern near Washington (in L.V.) at which place this photo was taken.

Abstract

The C. E. Johnson Photographs (approximately 1900-1920) consist of photographs taken by Johnson throughout Nevada, Utah, and Southern California. One album focuses on the mining region of Round Mountain. The other albums include more personal, family-oriented photographs including family travel; oil derricks in Southern California; automobile races in the streets of Los Angeles, California; and the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) temple in Salt Lake City, Utah.
