The collection documents Gilbert Shwartz's early involvement with the Clark County Sheriff's Mounted Posse and the Elks Club in the early 1960s as well as the growth of his real estate company, Sahara Realty, from 1963 to 2008. The collection includes photographs and programs of the Clark County Sheriff's Mounted Posse Rodeo and programs for the Elks Club Helldorado Days Rodeo from the early 1960s. The collection also includes photographs of Schwartz and his home, slides of Sahara Realty/Realtors advertising around Las Vegas, and autographed team photographs of the Central Little League teams sponsored by Sahara Realty. Also included is a program for the National Association of Real Estate Brokers annual conference held in Las Vegas in 1974.

Oral history interview with Rachel Coleman conducted by Claytee White on July 24, 1996 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Rachel Coleman discusses her move to Las Vegas, Nevada and her first job in town, washing glasses at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. She continues speaking about her work experience including how she was promoted to executive housekeeper at the Hacienda Resort Hotel and Casino in 1969. She then talks about how she became a representative for the Culinary Union Local 226 in 1973, how she became department head of the Union in 1981, and her experience running for Union president in 1987. Finally, Coleman recalls the atmosphere of Las Vegas from the 1960s through the 1980s.

The Syphus-Bunker Papers date from 1891 to 1994, with the majority of the collection consisting of correspondence between Mary Etta Syphus and John Mathieson Bunker from 1891 to 1895. The collection also contains correspondence from friends and relatives, and documentation related to Mary Etta Syphus' attendance at Brigham Young Academy Church Normal Training School. Other materials include family history information and two color photographs of family homes. The collection also includes typed transcripts of the correspondence.

The C. Vern Olmstead Professional Papers (1940-1975) contain materials related to Olmstead’s work as a prominent meat industry executive. The collection pertains to the preparation, cutting, storage, marketing, and distribution of meats including beef, pork, and poultry. Materials include reports, correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, photographic prints and slides, and publications regarding topics relevant to the handling and sale of meat in the United States and Canada.

The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Lake Mead Government Documents contains reports and studies pertaining to Lake Mead’s water quality, microbe ecology, wildlife, fish, plant life, pollution, soil, and sediment dating between 1971 and 1994. Reports include studies on microbe population growth, water composition, chemical treatment, salinity, temperature monitoring, and hand-written field notes on water and soil conditions. Lake Mead is located in Clark County, Nevada and Mohave County, Arizona.

The Robert L. Forbuss papers (1945-2011) are comprised of the personal papers of Las Vegas, Nevada educator and businessman, Robert L. "Bob" Forbuss. The collection materials include photographs of Forbuss throughout his life, including his early childhood, as well as some photographs of his mother, Marjorie Forbuss, during the 1940s and 1950s. The collection documents Forbuss's early childhood through adulthood and includes materials such as personal correspondence and Forbuss's baby book. There are also papers documenting Forbuss's professional life including his involvement with local politics and businesses. The collection includes records for J&B Strategic Alliances, LLC., a consulting company that he co-founded with former Las Vegas mayor, Jan Jones.

The Lorelle Nelson Collection on Atomic Testing is comprised of newspaper clippings, magazine and journal articles, correspondence, press releases, fact sheets, fliers, informational handouts and booklets, and newsletters from approximately 1980 to 2009 concerning nuclear weapons testing at the Nevada Test Site, throughout the United States, and internationally. The collection includes information about anti-nuclear groups, committees, and associations, as well as information on the effects of radiation, nuclear fallout, lawsuits and court cases, events and protests, conferences, and local news coverage.

UNLV Libraries Collection of Fitzgeralds Hotel and Casino Promotional and Publicity Materials includes newspaper and magazine clippings, a press kit, and promotional materials for Fitzgeralds in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tunica, Mississippi, dating from 1991 to 2001.

The Bonnie and Al Levinson Papers on Bonnie Springs Ranch contains visual and promotional materials from the 1960s to 2014 about Bonnie Springs Ranch located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The materials depict events and shows that occurred at the ranch; its guests, employees, petting zoo animals; and document the buildings on the property as well as the surrounding areas, including Red Rock Canyon. Also in the collection are photographs from other locations in Nevada, such as Belmont, Goodsprings, and Las Vegas. The collection also includes digital photographs of Bonnie Springs Ranch from 2008 depicting trail rides as well as the snow storm that fell on the Las Vegas Valley on December 17, 2008. The collection contains a significant amount of promotional materials about Old Nevada, a recreation of an 1880s mining town, as well as press releases and magazines and newspaper articles featuring the ranch.

The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Maps (1770-2023) contains a wide variety of maps primarly representing Southern Nevada and the surrounding region. Some maps (particularly topographic maps) include most counties in the state. Maps are grouped by general type, and include historical routes; topographic maps; plat and parcel maps; geologic and mineral resource maps; government planning, census, and electoral maps; travel and tourism maps; and general highway and road maps. Additional maps held by UNLV Special Collections and Archives are cataloged and may be searched in the Libraries' online catalog.
