Advertisement for the third annual barbeque cook-off and party hosted by Stardust during the National Finals Rodeo week. Shows promotional shows of the rodeo and the Stardust Hotel; shots of previous cook offs, lots of people wearing cowboy hats and boots and milling around the event tents. The voiceover explains that there will be sponsorships, over 50,000 people in attendance, and the Stardust will provide a "massive media campaign" to advertise the event. Lido de Paris 25th Anniversary local news segment: video, 1990 December 23
Local news reports on the Stardust Hotel having heating system trouble in the new high-rise tower. The resort hopes to have heat on soon, but is having trouble relocating guests due to a 100% occupancy rate. The second segment discusses the cold weather is cuasing many shows and entertainment spectacles to be put on hold. The Mirage Volcano waterfalls are iced over, and the "Lido" show was cancelled due to frozen and burst water pipes. Murphey, Cynthia Kiser
Cynthia Kiser Murphey was the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino until May 2020. She worked at the New York-New York for twelve years, first joining the company in Human Resources for the Mirage, then moving to the MGM Grand when it opened 1992 as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. She started the MGM Resort Corporate University program as well as the onsite childcare program while at MGM Resorts.
