The Ruthe Deskin Papers (1933-2004) document Deskin's career as a journalist and community activist in Nevada. The papers include Deskin's "Back and Forth" columns, newspaper articles about Deskin, awards and certificates, legal documents, correspondence, photographs, obituaries and memorials, convention programs from the Nevada Press Association, and biographical ephemera. The collection also contains certificates recognizing Deskin's work with Nevada youth from Greenspun Junior High School and Ruthe Deskin Elementary School, as well as the Boy Scouts of America and the Clark County Juvenile Court.

The Betty Ham Dokter Photographs depict the Ham Family from 1850 to 1976. The materials include photographs of the family after they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1916 and document the early growth of the city. The materials also include photographs of the Colorado River, the Hoover (Boulder) Dam site before and after its construction, dinner parties, family photographs, and citizens of the Las Vegas area. The Beda and C. Norman Cornwall Photograph Collection (1940s-1978) primarily contains black-and-white photographic prints of Beda and C. Norman engaging in various civic activities. The collection also includes photographic prints of Beda Cornwall’s reception at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as well as C. Norman Cornwall’s riding group, the Los Rancheros Visitadores, during their trek through the Santa Ynez Valley in California. Beda Cornwall was the president of the Citizens’ Library Association of Las Vegas and C. Norman Cornwall was a prominent Las Vegas attorney.

The Joan Kane Collection of Casino Training Manuals (approximately 1980-1999) contains various human resource training manuals for Atlantic City, New Jersey properties (Playboy Casino, Atlantis, Golden Nugget), Las Vegas, Nevada properties (Fremont Casino, Stratosphere, New York New York, Planet Hollywood) Circus Circus in Mississippi, and various riverboat gaming locales. Of note is a the Playboy Bunny club training manual, UNLV gaming training workshop, and some general manuals related to how to respond to potential labor strikes.

The Hank deLespinasse Photographs (approximately 1960-2002) contain the professional work of Hank deLespinasse while working in Las Vegas, Nevada. The photographs document a variety of events in the region. DeLespinasse photographed for Sports Illustrated and covered regional news events for TIME, Newsweek, and other local, national, and international publications. The collection contains 35mm, 120mm, and 4x5 film, slides, and contact sheets. Assignment numbers (also referred to as set numbers) are included when provided. Some assignment folders also contain contracts, newspaper clippings, and shoot-specific notes taken by deLespinasse.
