Description

From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series IV. Pahrump, Nevada -- Subseries IV.D. Wiley Family. During the early 1950s, Roland Wiley raised pheasants on his Hidden Hills Ranch, Pahrump Valley, Nevada. The birds were turned loose on the property in large numbers and hunted by guests from hotels In Las Vegas and other areas. Wiley's economic venture in raising pheasants for hunting, however, was not successful.
