Tom Ehlen has been passionate about the trumpet from an early age. He discovered his musical roots in his hometown of Kenton, Ohio and pursued that passion throughout his life. He caught his first break as a musician while studying at Ohio State University.

Harold Henry James "Hal" Erickson was the second Director of Libraries for Nevada State University, later known as the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He came to UNLV in 1965 and began expanding Special Collections to include many gaming, Southern Nevada, and local history collections. He retired in 1993 after many years of service on local boards and his dedicated library work.

Samuel Smith was born July 26, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Smith moved to New York to finish high school, and stayed in the city to become a police officer. He stayed there until 1978, when he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He took a job as an inspector with the fire department, and remained in that position until he retired in 2003.

Leo Borns, Jr. was born November 27, 1931 and was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He, along with his wife, Sue Borns, came to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1962 to begin an architectural career that would last forty-four years in Southern Nevada. Borns worked for various firms in Las Vegas, before developing a reputation as “F. Borns, Architect.” He has gone on to design buildings for state public works, Clark County, Nevada, the City of Las Vegas, Clark County School District, churches, and private home owners.

Dedee (DaVeen) Nave was born November 09, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana to David and Virginia Maurer and has a sister, Marilyn Maurer MacCollum. Their mother was a convert to Judaism who instilled them with a solid Judeo-Christian foundation. When Nave became the bride of a mixed marriage, she raised her daughter, Alisa, in the Jewish faith.

Darwin Gidel was born in 1924 and grew up in Rockwell City, Iowa. After graduating from high school in June of 1942, Gidel immediately joined the military. His basic training took him from Minneapolis to Missouri, after which he was stationed in Nebraska, California, Florida and South Carolina for further training.

Lambert VanDerMeer was a 55-year resident of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Holland in November 23, 1899, and was a member of the North Las Vegas, Nevada Host Lions Club. He died October 07, 1983.

Naomi Goynes was born as Naomi Jackson on October 30, 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee to a minister father. Her first job was as a maid, but she had dreams of attending college. When Goynes attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, she received her teaching degree in home economics. Goynes met her future husband, Theron Goynes, in Nashville, Arkansas where they both were young teachers in 1956.
