Alterwitz, Daryl S., 1959-
Daryl Alterwitz (1959- ) is a Las Vegas, Nevada attorney. When he was thirteen years old his family moved from Gary, Indiana to Las Vegas and purchased Walker Furniture. Alterwitz graduated from Valley High School and attended the University of California Santa Cruz. He earned his law degree from Santa Clara University and a degree in taxation from New York University School of Law. After his father Oscar Alterwitz passed away in 1990, Daryl moved back to Las Vegas to take on more responsibility in the family business, Walker Furniture.

Ruth D'Hondt was born and reared in Las Vegas, Nevada, living on Jackson Street where her family owned Mattie's Cafe. The restaurant provided not just great food but employment for D’hondt and her five brothers and sisters. In 1959, the family moved to Berkley Square.

Louise Lorenzi Fountain was born Nov. 14, 1913 in La Belle, Missouri to David Lorenzi, a French immigrant, and Julia Travese. Her younger years were devoted to helping her father develop and manage Lorenzi Lake Park, which he built and opened in 1926.

Williams, Eugene C.
Eugene Williams was born June 15, 1944 into a musical family and grew up in Fresno, California. His mother and father were both singers, and he and his siblings grew up singing. Williams sang in the church choir before forming his own groups, the Vells and the Precision Six. Buck Ram signed Williams to the Platters in 1970, with whom he performed for eighteen years.

Denton, Sara P., 1924-
Sara Denton was born November 12, 1924 in Paducah, Kentucky into a family of readers and thinkers. When the opportunity arose, at 18 years of age, to move to Washington, D.C. to work in the Signal Corps, she seized the opportunity. From the vantage point of her apartment, she could see the Secret Service assisting Franklin D. Roosevelt into his limousine at the back door of the White House. His polio was hidden from the public but this diversion allowed Sara and her friends to greet and be greeted by their hero.

Agonia, Barbara, 1934-
Barbara Agonia was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1934. She graduated from Hanover College in southern Indiana in 1957 with a double major in English and speech/theater. Barbara taught English, speech, and theater in Illinois. In 1969, Barbara moved to Las Vegas where her sister lived and enrolled in a master's degree program in English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As she was completing her degree in 1971, she was hired by the Clark County Community College, which is now the College of Southern Nevada.

Greenspun, Danny, 1954-
Daniel "Danny" A. Greenspun is the founder of Vegas.Com, a Las Vegas, Nevada tourism website. The son of Hank and Barbara Greenspun, Danny Greenspun was involved with the family's company, Greenspun Media Group (GMG), until 2014 when his brother Brian Greenspun took full ownership. Danny Greenspun previously served as chairman of GMG, vice chairman of the Greenspun Corporation, and vice president of the Las Vegas Sun, the newspaper established by his parents.

Joseph George, was born, raised, and educated through high school in Sudlersville, Maryland. He describes his college career at the University of Pennsylvania and earning his MD degree at University of Maryland in Baltimore. There were only 15 students in his high school class and 114 in his medical class.

Waldemar Jackson was born on May 29, 1957 to Charcohe Ann Jackson and Lisele Wall Jackson. The Jacksons were one of the first black families in the West Las Vegas, Nevada neighborhood, Vegas Heights. He grew up facing racial tensions and prejudices.
