Adele Baratz discussed general topics in Nevada's history, including early Las Vegas (1950 to 1979) life as well as life during World War II. Baratz also discussed changes throughout history including nursing, medicine, medical advancements, taxes, highways, politics and hospitals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For decades Joyce Elise Straus opened her home, the "House of Straus," to area youth seeking art experiences. That effort included the opening of the School of Creative Thinking in 1976. Her varied artwork is widely collected in the Southern Nevada community. Straus was married for 56 years to Dr. Neil B. Straus. Her son David Straus and his wife Heidi continue the tradition.

Her varied artwork is widely collected in the Southern Nevada community. Straus was married for 56 years to Dr. Neil B. Straus. Her son David Straus and his wife Heidi continue the tradition.

David and Heidi Straus pose in the "House of Straus," at 409 Rosemary Lane in Las Vegas. David's mother, Joyce Straus, was a prominent Las Vegas artist, whose eclectic style and commitment to art education made her home/art studio a local feature. Heidi's father Jay Sarno, founded Caesars Palace and Circus Circus. The couple are hoping to continue Joyce's legacy through the Joyce Straus Foundation.
