Las Vegas - April 1, 193& ¥ 26 Mr. W01. Reinhardt - Los Angeles co: Mr. E. E. Bennett Attached please find copy of letter to me from Mr. Harry E. Miller, Secretary, Las Vegas Valley Water District, dated March 30, 195^, relative to construction of a baseball diamond by the Recreation Department of City of Las Vegas on land which it is proposed to sell the District under Agreement HC ftL,D. 113^2. The area of land desired by the Recreation Department is located on Water Company property several hundred feet northerly of the elevated steel water tank on Charleston Boulevard adjacent to Hyde Park Subdivision. The question as to entering into a lease with the Recreation Department was raised here some time ago, but I informed Mr. Trent of the Recreation Department that, in view of the pending sale to the Water District, it was doubtful whether our executives would approve a lease of any part of the land which it is proposed to sell the District under the terms of the above mentioned agreement. When this matter came up it was suggested that they wait until the District assumed ownership of this land, at which time they could deal directly with the District. Mr. James M. Cashrn&n told me yesterday that he feels that this delay would interfere with the Recreation Department’s plans for the coming summer, but I told Mr. Cashman that, nevertheless, we still felt that the Recreation Department should wait until the sale takes place. If you have any different ideas on this matter, please advise and I will so inform the District. L. R. Maag Attachment
