' The housing situation in Las Vegas today Is in an acute state, and no positive steps have been taken toward adequate re­lief. The Metiell Housing Corporation has started construction of the first unit of SO houses, and it is possible that this pro­ject will be extended in units of So to as many as S00 houses. Another project is about to be opened up on the property recently purchased from the Land Co., and it appears there will be at least SO, and perhaps more, homes constructed on that sits., A number of other projects are under consideration which have not reached a definite status. Magnesium Co. estimates it will have, for the plant now under construction, from *1,000 to h,500 employes, and indicates there is possibility of enlarging the plant. in doubt some of these employes will find homes in Boulder City, and some will scatter in tent houses or small shacks in the surrounding terri­tory, but I think it safe to assume that for Basic Magnesium
