    172 could least be spared. Had I hired their transportation by boat it would have cost more than $100. I would have had to hire now boats (the steamers course up but two or three times so the [not legible] autum and [not legible] [not legible]), no wear, buy food, etc, etc. Not counting any official triple, the Suppai Indian villages the entire expense to be Gov. for filling this school with 101 pupils has been but $19.40 which I consider as a very small [not legible] for the first year of a new school. I have made a similar experience during the present quarter of $15.60 which I also hope will be allowed
