Mr. E.E. Bennett: Las Vegas, July 28th, Re: Independent Water Supply for Railroad and PFE Co., at Las Vegas. With reference to the investigation Being made concerning the use of the shop well at Las Vegas, Nevada, for an independent water supply for Railroad and PFE Co., I transmit herewith copy of minutes of meeting held on July 8th, 1952. These minutes were fhrnished to me during my absence in Chicago and I for­ward them to you immediately upon my return, for your consideration. I assume that the next step, insofar as the law department is concerned, will be an application for a transfer of the point of diversion under the exist ing permit of the Railroad Company. In view of the water shortage at this time in Las Vegas, and an act­ion taken by the City Commissioners of Las Vegas, it might be unwise to file such an application in the immediate future. You might wish to wait until the matter has already received the tacit approval of the state engineer through informal dismission of the pro­posed application so that it would be approved without publicity.
