Railroad Companies reserve the right to maintain said connection or some other suitable connection with the water transmission and distribution lines of the District so as to be able to obtain a supply of water from the District in case of e- mergencies arising subsequent to the sale date. It is also agreed that the property to be sold to the Dis­trict hereunder shall not include any service connections owned by customers heretofore served ?under private contract by Railroad Com­panies. Such privately owned connections with the distribution lines proposed to be sold and conveyed to the District hereunder are shown in yellow color on Exhibit "D".
