Las Vegas - January 28, 1952 R 2-105 R 2~b Mr* A. G. Ritter - Los Angeles Under Agreement "N* L. D, 2296 we leased site to James W. Costello and Carl A. Henatsoh, dba Roach Distributing Company, South Main Street, Las Vegas, for term expiring August 1, 195^* Mr. Costello advises their business has so expanded that It is necessary they construct a 5© foot addition to their present building. He states that to construct the addition upon the present lease site would so decrease their truck-loading platform as to make it impractical from an operating standpoint. Mr. Costello requests lease upon the abutting 50 foot parcel now under lease to Walter B. Bates, Aba Southwest Plumbing and Supply Company, but which is not being used by him at the present time. Discussed the matter with Mr, Bates, who is anxious to retain the lease as he expects to construct a warehouse and unloading platform upon the site although he is unable at this time to state when construction will be commenced. Mr. Layne advises that during the first 10 months of 1951 Roach Distributing Company shipped 90 cars of beer, 50 of which were from Milwaukee and ko oars from southern California, in addition to 40 carloads of empty bottles, of which 32 were shipped to Milwaukee and 8 to southern California. Mr. Layne further states that he has no record of carload shipments to Southwest Plumbing and Supply Company, although they do receive some LCL shipments. Mr. Costello expects to return to Las Vegas about the middle of February and would like to be advised as to the possibility of securing the 50 foot area in order that he may arrange for the construction of the addition prior to June 1, 1952. Would appreciate your advise. W. H. Johnson
