File Memo At 4:30AM Wednesday, May 18th, 1938, weir measure-ments were taken of entire water supply, from wells and springs. Present were: Walter R. Bracken C. D. Baker (City Engineer) C. H. Jameson (assisting Baker) T. E. Connolly (LVL&WCo) A. M. Folger " Wes Neeley " All valves were closed on transmission mains at the reservoir, and measurement at weir disclosed a head of 8.4 inches, which equalled, according to the table, 7.53 second feet. By computation, this was equal to 4,859,965.44 gallons per day, or an average of 600 gals per person per day, based on a population of 8,000 and including amount used by Railroad and PFE as well as stock yards. Mr. C. D. Baker is City and County Engineer and Mr. Jameson is deputy State Water Surveyor and well experienced in taking water measurements throughout the State. Las Vegas, May 18, 1938.
