Description
U.S. Post Office building located on Main Street on UPRR tract. The post office had only general delivery service with post office boxes until December 1933, when local delivery began. This was the period of "hook and toss" when mail was tossed from passing train. If the hook was not hit exactly, the bag might be torn and the mail scattered. That often happened.
