'For pipe r^de and laid at Las Vegas, $1.90 per lineal foot exclusive of earth work Lut including connection at the spring and special 10^inch tee opening at lower end of the line. For the pipe made in Los Angeles and transported free of cost to us bv your Company from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, $1*35 per foot 'laid exclusive of earth work but including special work above mentioned! •The rate quot foot making made in Los on this pipe, at $6.40 per ton, which was the Sloan would be approximat ely 45# per lineal price| including the freight for the pipe #1.80 per foot. _ this pipe would have to be very carefully made with selected materials, we believe it would be much better to make it here than to try to construct it at Las Vegas as we can not only secure the proper materials here but;we. can give the pipe much closer inspection and it can be made under more favorable con­ditions in every way. . , w® wil1 guarantee the pipe for a period of five years from the date of completion and will immediately repair or replace any de- fects, should any appear within that time which might be due to defective materials or workmanship or the action of any sub- stances^contained in the soil. It shall be understood, however that this guarantee does not cover any injury which may come to I the pipe through any causes except those abote mentioned and over which we have no control.
