Jrt _ This is the first time I have heard any figures on the anticipated costs for the water district, but it was stated in this meeting that they expected to issue bonds in the amount of $^,000,000 and that with the provisions of the proposed new act they could save about 1% in their finan­cing- costs. Suggestion was then made by one of the members that perhaps it would be better to try to lease the water distributing system instead of condemning or otherwise ac­quiring it, as under this"method it would not be necessary to make such a large bond issue, and in addition the water system would continue to pay taxes, whereas if the water district acquired ownership of the mains the taxes would be lost.
