It w ill be noted that the easements requested by the City are located partly on land which i t is proposed to s e ll to the Water D istrict and partly on land owned by Union P a cific which w ill fee retained as Railroad land, Tbs C ity o f Las Vegas has entered in to a co n stru ctio n co n tra ct f o r th s exten sion o f trunk li n e sewers in areas covered by a l l o f the s&aementa requested in t h e ir l e t t e r as w e ll as In other p o rtio n s o f the c i t y where the Company p rop erty w i l l not be in vo lv ed . In awarding th is co n tra ct the C ity f a ile d to secure n ecessary easements across Coratany prop erty in advance, and when 1 learn ed o f t h is s itu a tio n I informed the D ire cto r o f P u b lic Works th a t h is co n tra cto r would not be perm itted to en ter onto our property u n t il such tin e as they had secured fro® us easseent* or perm ission to do so . I b e lie v e i t was poor management on th e City*# p e r t to award, t h is co n tra ct without having f i r s t secured & Right o f Way, but in view a f the f a c t th at the co n stru ctio n work on th e sewers i s now in progress and i t w i l l be only ® n a tte r of a few weeks o r a month b efo re they w i l l reach a p o in t where i t w i l l be necessary f o r then to e ith e r have the p e r­m ission o f the Company to en ter th s property or to d iscon tin u e co n stru ctio n , they" have now requested the req u ired casements from us in the hops th a t th ese easements e»n be provided in t in e so th a t i t w i l l not fee n ecessary to d iscon tin u e t h e ir con stru ction work, m a m atter of in form ation , the City*# co n tracto r is now working approxi­m ately a t the p o in t which 1 have merited on th s rasp w ith th e .le t t e r •X* near the in te r s e c tio n o f Highway 95 #»d Charleston Saul w a rd m& i s proceeding w e s te r ly .
