We th erefo re entered in to a o o n tract, O.A. Audit No. 10468, dated October 18, 1948, with B arber—Bridge D r illi n g Oorp. L t d . , f o r the d r i l l i n g o f a lb -in c h w e ll c o n sistin g o f 16-lnch double w e ll c asin g No* 8 gauge with 6 0 f t * o f 20-inoh I.D * conductor pipe* However, due to the fa c t pipe manufacturers did not have No. 8 gauge casing in stock, B a rb e r-B rid g e D r i lli n g Corp. fu rn ish ed h ea v ie r casin g No* 6 . gauge at same p ric e o r i g i n a lly quoted f o r No. 8 gauge. At a depth o f IM7 f t . a small amount o f a rte s ia n flo w , approxim ately 10 GPM, developed which in creased g ra d u a lly to 20 GPM a t 280 f t . and at t o t a l depth o f 1128 f t . a rte s ia n flo w was increased to 5 0 GPM. The g re a te r p o rtio n o f the e n tire depth o f 1128 f t . con sisted o f varying thicknesses o f la y e r s o f b lu e , brown and grey clay with a few s t r a t a o f lim estone and se v e ra l la y e rs non—water b e a rin g c la y and rooks mixed together* The only m a terial which was considered to be w ater b earin g oth er than th at mentioned above was encountered a t depth o f 7 0 6 to 7 0 9 f t . which con sisted o f a 3 - f t . s t ra t a o f lim estone g r a v e l. Well casing was p erfo rated between 405 *nd 1 1 0 0 f t . e le v a tio n s and no in crease in flow developed. State o f Nevada would not permit us to p e rfo ra te above 400 f t depth. Test o f the w e ll a f t e r p e r fo ra t in g measured 5 0 0PM with p ressu re o f 2 8 -lb s . p e r sq. in ch . Well was capped, v a lv e in s t a lle d and i s now flo w in g 5 0 0PM. Due to the fa c t that very l i t t l e water b earin g s t ra t a were found in the e n tire depth o f the w e ll, the in s t a lla t io n o f the pump i s not warranted as our pumping te sts in d ic a te that the sands produoe only about 5 0 0PM and operation o f a submers i b le pump w i l l in crease the flo w only a very sm all amount.
