SALVAGE AND SCRAP MATERIAL MANUAL Appendix B WASTE MATERIAL SPECI FI CATIONS ALUMINUM SCRAP PURE 2S CLIPS AND CABLE shall consist of new clean unalloyed sheet clippings, cable, wire free of all oil, grease and any other foreign substance. MIXED CLIPS AND MIXED SOLIDS shall consist of clippings and cuttings of different alloys that are mixed in the process of manufacture* MIXED BORINGS AND TURNINGS shall consist of a mixture of different alloys which have not been kept separate during the process of manu­facture; allowance for all oil water and other forms of contamination to be made when shipping this material* SEGREGATED BORINGS AND TURNINGS shall consist of turnings and borings of one alloy which has been segregated and handled by itself* OLD SHEET AND UTENSILS shall consist of clean, old, unalloyed sheet and utensils and unalloyed manufactured sheet aluminum free from alloy, iron, dirt or other foreign substance* OLD CASTINGS AND FORGINGS shall consist of automobile or airplane crankcases, transmission cases, cylinder heads, and castings made by the die casting or pressure casting process shall be free of iron, brass and other foreign materials - oil and grease not to exceed 2^. PISTON FREE OF STRUTS shall be free from struts, bushings, shafts, iron rings and any other foreign materials, PISTON WITH STRUTS shall consist of clean whole aluminum pistons with struts free from bushing shafts, iron zings and any other foreign materials* 471696 0 - 42 -6
