I can o f f e r no le g itim a te excuse, except that I run a one-man M unicipal Department here and sin ce my retu rn to Tucson from Los Angeles have spent p r a c t ic a lly a l l o f my time working on deals in the S tate o f Hew M exico. We th e r e fo r e tr u s t th a t you w ill not f e e l too h arsh ly towards us under the circum stances. Last week was my f i r s t f u l l week in the o f f i c e f o r months, and I had the time to go over the m aterial I secured in your o f f i c e from Mr. Bennett. The f e a s i b i l i t y o f th is whole p r o p o s itio n is somewhat q u estion a b le, but the engineer*s rep ort did n ot seem to go in to v ery much d e t a il about the volume o f business to be secured ou tsid e o f the c i t y lim its o f Las Vegas. Frankly, I do not b e lie v e we can g iv e any honest op in ion on the Las Vegas water s itu a tio n u n t il we have stu died the:; matter on the ground. We expect to g et to Las Vegas sometime w ith in the next month t o s ix weeks, and a ft e r we have gone over the m atter in d e t a il, hope we w i l l be able to g iv e you our d e fin it e id ea s.
