Mr. A. 0. Ritter - Los Angeles Referring to your letter of January 27, File 7 3 3 and with return of communication received from Mrs. Jay White, of Las Vegas, concerning the improvement of Owens Street. Discussed this matter with Mrs. White who stated she represented residents in the SEi of NE£ of Section 26 and NW£ of NW£ of Section 25, Township 20 South, Range 61 East, MDB&M and has been endeavoring to get the cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas to improve Owens Street easterly from South 5th Street along the city boundary lines. Mrs. White advises Mayor Baker stated that if the LVL&W Co. would convey necessary right of way across LVL&W Go. property, the city of Las Vegas would, at its own expense, provide roadway. I advised Mrs. White the LVL&W Co. had granted the oity of Las Vegas 30 foot easement across its property in early part of 19**8. (See LVL&W Co. land sold, Deed Audit No. ^9^-9), for roadway purposes. At the time we granted the city of Las Vegas easement above referred to, property owners in North Las Vegas were to provide similar easement so that a 6o foot street could be developed and the two cities Jointly proposed a bladed road along the easement. The road has been bladed and gravel surfaced from South Jfh Street east to about the center of the cemetary but the portion through the east half of the cemetary and across our property has not been opened up, although Las Vegas - February 1952
