Ur. Jeffers: #a Deo. 17 * 1939. At a n y rate, a s long as the r e s e r vation Is c o n tained In the deed, we o u s t solve the problem, and there appears to be three c o u r s e s open for our consideration: X - D r i l l a well, on our land adjacent to the B u r i a l Plot, for the purpose of supplying same w i t h the r e q u i r e d 4 inches of water. Ve estimate this w o u l d oost a p p r o x i m a t e l y $800.00. the u n d e s i r a b l e feature would b e that the m a i n tenance and operation w o u l d he u p to us, and if the f l o w decre a s e d d u r i n g the summer months we would still have to provide other m e a n s to f u r n i s h the required amount of water. 3 - Extend a w a t e r line f r o m our nearest m a i n on M o r t h Second Street to the Stewart B u r ial Plot, and supply w a t e r from the city mains. This would require a p p r o x i m a t e l y 3,000 feet of 3-inoh pipe, the labor and m a t e r i a l on w h i c h w o u l d r u n in the n e i g h borhood of $1500.00. This w o u l d per m a n e n t l y take ©are of the requirement, for a s long as there w a s water in the c i t y mains there w o u l d be a supply delivered to the b u r i a l plot. The u n d e s irable feature is that this line w o u l d oross over our land where n o houses w o u l d be supplied enroute, and no rev e n u e would ac c r u e as a re s u l t of our investment. And, of course, the line w o u l d have to be ren e w e d in 15 to 35 years. 3 <* W i t h the new w e l l w h i c h it is proposed to d r i l l shortly a f t e r the first of the year un d e r 10-1537, there should be sufficient w a t e r produced to a d e q uately supply the town a n d a l s o f u r n i s h a small surplus to run d o w n the Greek w h i c h w o u l d furnish the required 4 inches of water to the B u r i a l Plot. We can hope to d o this, e s pecially if the c r e e k —b e d is cle a n e d out b e t w e e n the r e s e r v o i r and Horth Main Street bridge, a s we have a l r e a d y cleaned it out f r o m the bridge to the b u r i a l plot, and w e will a r r a n g e w i t h railroad officials f o r the services of the dragline for this purpose w h i l e it is still here in Das V e g a s .
