Los Angeles, January 23, 19^2 Mr. W. H. Bracken: Referring to your letter of January 21, file W 1-1-2 regarding valuation as of March 1, 193-3 ^ke acre parcel of land recently sold to Clark et al: Forms 30-C covering the retirement of the lands sold to the Elks and to Clark et al each recite the March 1, 1913 value of the land covered $60.00 per acre* I do not know hy whom those valuations were made hut inasmuch as they have heem so established I believe you would be Justified in considering them as being satisfactory for your purpose. There were no acreage sales of ranch lands made prior to 1919, when ^0 acres bordering on Clark Avenue were sold to John L. Russell by LA&SL RR Co. at #100 per acre: LVL&OT in 1921 sold to First State Bank, a parcel of land about 3° acres east of Fifth Street and north of BridgetStreet and said to contain 219.17S lots, for a consideration of #10,959*&° which approximates #365.00 per acre: in 1922 sold to C. 0. Boggs ^*39 acres north of Stewart Street for #1,600.00 which is slightly less than #365.00 per acre: and in 1926 about 115 acres were sold to First State Bank for #*K5,000 or at the rate of about #350»00 per acre.
