Lear Sir: A few days ago I telephoned to Mr. Smith making inquiry as to the terms of purchase of the Las Vegas Ranch, Lincoln County, Rev. I have a voucher .prepared "by Mr. Gibbon, in favor of McCorniek 8c Co. for $5,000. which reads as follows: "Being last payment due upon Stewart Ranch, situate in the Las Vegas Valley, Lincoln County, llevada, for the purpose of taking up deed now held by McComick & Co. as escrow holder,r* I would understand from this that there was still a pay­ment of #5,000. to be made upon the Las Vegas Ranch, but as it was my impression that the ranch was purchased by Senator Clark and that we had paid him the entire amount, it occurs to me that the payment of #5,000. may be due by Senator Clark instead of by the Railroad Company. Mr. Smith agreed to send me the papers, but I have not yet received them. Please advise. Yours truly Auditor.
