Illustrative of this point is the fact that we have over the past few years completely re* fcuilt the distributing system of the Water Company in the City of Las Vegas, replacing all eld redwood and wrought iron pipes with modern cast*iron untilf at the present time, the distri­buting system is relatively a new system. In addition, we have installed larger water mains in the business district pursuant to the suggestions of the flro underwriters! we have increased our storage facilities and have constructed circulating systems in the outlying territories to improve pressure, replacing many formerly dead-end systems. We think our little water company hat a reasonable right to take pride in the fact that it has not only provided an adequate supply of high quality water, but has dene it very generously as to amount and what is further to the point, at very low rates to the water users. In fact, our rates, based upon the volume of water used, are lower than practically any City la the country and generally very materially lower. The present rates of the Company have not been increased for the pact twenty years. It is true that in some peak period of demand, our pres* cures have not been entirely satisfactory in coins locations. Likewise, we freely admit that, as the population continues to grew in las Vegas, it will be necessary t© augment the present 10W.
