From the Elizabeth Harrington Photograph Collection (PH-00291). Inscription with image reads: "Las Vegas Creek as it flowed through the Old Ranch to fade away into the desert. Sam Gay took his prisoners here tying them to the big shade tree so they could be more comfortable in the hot weather." - E(lizabeth) Harrington (Sam Gay was Sherriff)
