Dear Mr. McNamee: Herewith find a statement rendered by the auditor of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company for supplies, etc., amounting to $1636.11. This does not correspond with the claim for $1361.59 as per attached relief bill, which amount I understood was agreed upon as full settlement except for the item of the Lincoln car. Please take this matter up directly with your auditing department in order that the books may show the amount of the proposed settlement. If your company is willing to cancel the bill for the auto, the machine might be used to good advantage in connection with the work of the Nevada Colorado River Commission the benefits of whose work will primarily apply to the territory in Clark and Lincoln counties served by the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company.
