S.P., L.A. & S.L. R.R. CO. AUDITOR'S OFFICE. DISBURSEMENTS DEPARTMENT. OCT. 14, 1908. FILE No. C341. Las Vegas, Nev., Oct. 13, l908. Mr. H. I. Bettis, Vice Pres. & Auditor, Las Vegas Land & Water Co., Los Angeles, Cal. Dear Sir,- Replying to your favor of October 3d, file C-341-G, referring to sub-lease Las Vegas Ranch. I beg to advise you that you will find herewith enclosed the agreement existing between myself and the Las Vegas Mercantile Company in connection with the portion of the ranch and dwelling house formerly occupied by F.M. Grace. In reference to sub-lease from me to Las Vegas Mercantile Company, I made none. I simply assigned my original lease to the Las Vegas Mercantile Company, and they pay the rental of $1000.00 as called for in my lease. This rental will be paid to me, as it was done when due on September 1st, and I forwarded a deposit slip to you, the amount having been deposited to the credit of the Las Vegas Land & Water Company in the bank. Hoping this explanation is satisfactory, I am, Yours truly, Walter R. Bracken
