If the city should take over the water company, its service would be confined to the city limits, it was pointed out, and a check of the city’s financial status indicates it would be im­possible for many years to fi­nance construction of a pipe-line from Lake Mead to augment the present artesian supply which has proved inadequate during ihe summer months for some time past. A check of the air force base reveals that the water supply there is sufficient only to meet minimum requirements. Authorities there said this morning that they were count­ing on Lake Mead Water to pro­vide the additional supply neces­sary to carry out development and beautification plans already authorized. It is expected that the work will be finished on the new .-Structure within the coming year.
