Attached is Mr* McDaniel’ s l e t t e r o f August A, 1952 making a p p lica tio n to purchase the above mentioned p a rce l. In my conversation w ith Hr. McDaniel, he stated that due to crowded conditions upon his present s it e i t is e s se n tia l he secure adciltl nal property f o r expansion purposes and in event he is unable to purchase, lo t s # 1-2-3 at Main and Ogden S treets i t w i l l be necessary that he g iv e con sideration to moving his e n tire operation to an ou tlyin g lo c a tio n . Mr. McDaniel stated th at fo r the present he w i l l continue to use the proposed purchase p arcel as a used oar lo t and when his finances permit and business conditions ju s t if y he contemplates construction o f a m u ltiple sto ry bu ildin g upon the Main S treet corner, u t iliz in g the ground flo o r fo r show­room and the upper f lo o r fo r warehousing, Mr, McDaniel stated , however, he would not commence b u ild in g construction u n til such time as he had s u ffic ie n t cafeh to pay f o r I t and th ere fo re could not a t th is time make any d e fin it e commitment as to when he would proceed w ith his expansion program.
