A* Barnes oO/maoh Maa, naHgsebrra oafka Properties bear Mr* Barnes: In accordance with your verbal request while you vers la Las Vegas last week, X am enclosing herewith a copy of the outline of the existing water supply system from Lake Mead to JSCX* This line was constructed about 194-2, when material and labor oosts wars considerably less than they are now* Also enclosed is a statement compiled by the State Engineer Showing withdrawals from the Las Vegae Valley in aore feet for the past 24 yeare* He estimates ths re-oharge rats to be about 30,000 acre-feet annually, and eome oonoem was felt when the withdrawal! exneed the re-oharge rate in 1946* While the withdrawals decreased slightly in 1947, the 1948 estimate was 34,000 aore-feet. This applies ef course to the total wSUe in the valley, some 4oo, of which the Water Company has eleven*
