1i Las Vegas - November 21, 1944 W 23-1-B (Personal) Mr. Frank Strong: Your letter November 16 with regard, to our propo­sal to secure the services of former geologist Greene In connect! n with further studies of Las Vegas Artesian Basin. In view of the fact that no definite date has been set for formal hearing and that this will probably be after the first of the year (if It Is held at all) I have written Mr. Greene as per copy attached. In telephone conversation with Mr. Shamberger of the State Engineer's office at Carson City he advised that as yet no date had been set because the applicants wished to change the location of their well- and it does not appear that .. any hearing will be held for the coming year. My thought in suggesting Greene's presence that it would add considerable weight to our case, but we can discuss this later if and when a formal hearing is set. WALTER R.
