If eg to acknowledge receipt of your valued favor of the 29th,30th ana 31st ult,, contents carefully noted, also enclosing bill against the ranch from Mrs,Stewart, amounting'to #615.50. fffcere appears to be a good many charges on this bill which I do not think ax right. I do not think we are liable fg>r any expense incurred on the ranch up to the time it was turned over to us. However, I am going to look the matter over carefully again and write you. I also note -she eharged-us with a lot of sweet potatoes and other things that we certainly had on the ranch. Please make no promises to her until you hear from me again. We want to do whet is right by her, but do not care to be held up. Very respectfully yours,
