Pat McCarran will be in Las Vegas next Monday , he disclosed yesterday in a com­munication from Washington, and it is expected that while I he is here, final documents will be drawn up for presenta- F tion to the federal General S e r v i c e s Administration, whereby the Las Vegas Val- ; ley Water District will pur- ? chase the entire Henderson water system: for one dollar. Following .word o f the GSA acceptance of the deal Saturday,/ the water district directors yes­terday put the wheels into mo­tion lor rapid conclusion of their ! negotiations to purchase the facilities of the Las Vegas Land and Water Co. from the Union Pacific, Thomas A. Campbell, president I of the district’s board of directors, [ said the negotiations will take ('approximately 45 days to eon-i elude, The figure the district will pay for the system must be j determined before details of, | j ‘ bond election can be worked out. i Regarding the deal ..whereby j the water district will take over I the' Henderson system, John Mueller, GSA representative for Nevada, and Alan Bible, assistant attorney general for the Colorado River Commission, are expected to meet in Las Vegas Friday to draft the formal documents turn-i ing over the facilities to the ,dis- [ triet. j It is expected that Senator Me- j j Carran will meet with all parties' concerned during his Las Vegas i visit, and may personally take; j the document back to Washing-l ton, to speed its acceptance by- GSA. j Meanwhile, the river commis-; ('Sion has asked for bids at “fairi I values” on business and residen- I tial properties at Henderson, Gov. i Charles Russell announced yes- i terday in Carson City. The commission in a weekend meeting asked bids from persons who leased, the properties from BMI, the privately-owned Federal Homes Corporation of Nevada and any other interested buyers. I Russell said the commission can­not dispose of the properties until •it receives specific bids. 1 Russell said first buying chance igoes to present renters of the business and residential houses.
