It must be remembered that this school is young - not two years old that we started with nothing and have grown until stopped for want of room Our location must be taken into consideration. The school stands alone - our nearest neighbors being Albuquerque on the East, Phoenix on the South and Salem on the North. We naturally draw from Ariz. and California and Nevada. This territory includes the following tribes of Indians: Mojaves, population estimated at 1500; Chimchuevis, 200; Hualapais, 700 these are all within 150 miles - Piutes in Nevada and California, of whom there are probably 1500; scattering Shohones in California; Suppais, 250 and Yumas, 1500.
