Johnson, Manager of the Las Vegas Land & Water Company, has been contacted and fch«* him we are advised that water service for our headys»d Concrete Plant here in Lae Vegas at present la beii^ classified as "water for concrete work*. It is our understanding no precedent can be followed in classifying our operation for we are the only plant in Las Vegas utilising city water service. The rate for this usea&e, we understand, is by cents per cubic yard of concrete based on our monthly production. We feel justified in requesting a re-classification of our rate, on the basis that we are different Iron temporary users, such as concrete oonstraetors moving from Job to Job. te have set up permanently in Las Vegas, having assumed the initial eapense of Installing our waterline, in addition to sponsoring the project to include an additional six ooeuaarical users of water, our present rate is not in parity with adjoining consumers availing them selves of this service. Cn the basis of our present production, we are processing in the neighborhood of 2,400 cubic yards of concrete monthly, which at §§ cents per cubic yard would result in a charge to us of $132.00 per eonth, in this production we would use frost 30 to 33 gallons per yard, or from 72,000 to 04,000 gallons per month. The average per capita consumption In Las Vegas of culinary Water we are advised i« about 760 gallons per day. This would result in a per capita use&ge of appro idmately 22,©GO gallons per month. Residential users we understand pay under $3.00 per month for the 22,600 gallons whereas w# are being obliged to pay for this same gallonage appro xisu^tely eleven times as much.
