V 't P M & ^ copy June 23* 1903 Dr, J.K.«.Bracken, Los Vegas Ranch, Nev. Dear Dir: I beg to acknowledge receipt of your favor of the 15th inst addressed to Mr* Clark in regard to a cook. Since receiving your first letter on this matter I have been searching high and low endeavoring to find some one who would go to the Ranch in that capacity, but as yet have been unable to locate one. l have been after several Chinamen to see if i could not get one of them to go but they all claim it is too far out. 1 will make another trial, however, and see if I cannot get you one. I Should think that one could be more easily located in Salt Lake. Do not try tuis, however, until I make another attempt here and then if 1 am unsuccessful i will advise you.
