materials and labor for the construction of, and to construct, in the locations shown by yellow lines on Exhibit "A", dated October 23 1953, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, the following: a. Approximately 5,060 LF of 8” cast iron water mains• b. Approximately 4,530 LF of 6" cast iron water mains« c* Approximately 120 LF of 6M fire hydrant connections. The cost of constructing said water mains (exclusive of the cost of constructing fire hydrant connections) is the agreed sum of $35,057.00. 2. Said water mains shall be constructed of 6" and 8M Class 150 B & S cast iron pipe and shall be in accordance with Federal specifications WWP 421 Type 1, All joints shall be cement. All fittings shall be new, all bell cast iron equal to ASA Standard Class 250, All valves shall be double disk, parallel seat bronze mountings conforming to AWWA standards, not less than 175 lbs., and all valve boxes shall be of cast iron of appropriate size for each valve. Unless otherwise approved by a duly authorized representative of the Company, all pipe valves and fittings shall be manufactured by the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company or Mueller Company. All pipe lines shall be chlorinated in accordance with AWWA specifications, shall be subject to the approval and acceptance of State and City Health Authorities, and shall be constructed at an elevation to be designated by a duly authorized representative of the Company, but in no event shall there be less than 36" of - 2 - M M |
