White, Director State Board of Health Reno, Nevada Dear Wallace: In one of owr conversations when you were la Lae Vegae some time ago, I recall the question arose as to whether water mains and sewer mains could be Installed %h the game ditch; and If not, how ®ueh they should be sep­arated. If l remember correctly* the minimum distance was established at 6 feet with a preference of ? feet by State Board of Health when separation to this extent was practicable. It has been my observation that the contractors Installing water and sewer mains have confirmed in general to this requirement. However, a situation has now arisen where It is not practicable to afford 6 feet of separation because of the narrow limits of easement in which these lines are laid. I will appreciate It very much if you will advise me as to the requirements of the State Board of Health in this respect. 4
