Mr. W.R. Bracken,Las Vegas, Nevada. My dear Walter:- I have just had a long talk with Mr. Clark and Judge Kelly in regard to the election of School Trustees at Las Vegas, and it is their earnestly expressed desire to have Judge Thomas permit his name to be used as cantidate, as they consider him a very stable man to direct the school work with conservatism rather than with impulse or with other motives. They request that you see him personally again, and, if you so desire, show him this letter, and urge him to serve in this capacity, together with Mr. Rosell or Mr. Apperson, in order to insure a safe school government which is so very important to all property interests at that point. Will you please see Mr. Thomas and advise him that his consent will be greatly appreciated, and advise me by wire of his answer? If he will consent, please have him file his name and the name of the other candidate with the Clerk of the Board of School Trustees, with the length of term to be served designated not later than five days before the election.
